Hi, I’m Jess!
I’m a homeschool mom, homesteader, teacher, and the heart behind Barefoot Hippie Homestead. For nearly 20 years I have had the privilege of working with families in a variety of educational settings. Along the way, I discovered that some of life’s best moments happen being covered in dirt, fresh bread on the counter, animals to care for, and community gathered together.
My love for simple living has grown into a ministry and homestead centered around connection, creativity, and real life learning. Here at Barefoot Hippie Homestead, you will find sourdough workshops, homestead classes, nature-based education through The Wildwood Schoolhouse, garden gatherings, and plenty of opportunities to slow down and reconnect with what matters.
I believe in learning by doing, finding joy in the every day moments, and creating spaces where people to feel comfortable enough to show up as exactly who they are and nothing else. Whether we’re planting seeds, learning how to bake bread, making candles, or sharing stories around a table, my goal is always the same: to build community, help others grow, and let children be children again.
You can usually find me outside, reading a book, or making some type of mess in the kitchen. Thank you for being here, i’m so thankful you found my little corner of the world! Welcome to Barefoot Hippie Homestead.
